To Dwell on Summer

Free to remain in a river's sigh,
In the punctuation of the sunlight's eye,
Or the round, bright eggs in a bluebird's nest,
Free to remain, by nature's course.
Free to remain, in the willow's green rest,
Or the bank half-flooded by the lightning's test,
Or the independence of a summer's day,
Without thought, misery, or remorse.
